A Supernova Remnant is the object left behind after a Type II supernova. Originally a Star object, this remnant will have a decreased mass and will have "Nova Remnant" appended to its name. If the mass of the remnant is less than 5 times the mass of the Sun, the object will remain a Star type. Otherwise, the object will become a Black Hole.
Type Ia supernova do not leave a remnant behind.
