The Star Count property of a Galaxy Nebula indicates how many individual stars the nebula represents. The Star Count property of a Galaxy object indicates how many individual stars the entire galaxy represents.

Star Count is calculated from the nebula's mass, and assumes that the stars within the nebula have a mass distribution represented by a single power law with index 2.35, and that 10% of the total mass of the nebula is represented in stars.

Location[edit | edit source]

The Star Count property for an individual Galaxy Nebula object is located in the Content section of the Nebula tab in the nebula's properties panel. The Star Count property for a Galaxy object is located at the bottom of the Properties section of the Galaxy tab of the galaxy's properties panel.

Units[edit | edit source]

Star Count is a unitless value, but it can be viewed and edited using the following orders of magnitude:

  • quadrillion = 1015
  • trillion = 1012
  • billion = 109
  • million = 106
  • thousand = 103
  • value is the full number representing the property
