Solar System Object
A Solar System Object in Universe Sandbox is a simulated object representing an actual asteroid, comet, Kuiper Belt object, dwarf planet, or other natural body orbiting the Sun that is not a planet or moon.
Larger Solar System objects, such as dwarf planets, are simulated as Planetary Bodies in Universe Sandbox, while smaller objects, such as small asteroids and Kuiper Belt objects in the Solar System simulations, are simulated as Fragments for performance reasons.
Database[edit | edit source]
There are over 50,000 Solar System objects in the Universe Sandbox database, which are sourced from the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Small-Body Database.
