The Color Mode property of a Star, Black Hole, or Galaxy determines the source of the object's colors. The property has two options: Default and Custom. When the Color Mode is Custom, the object's colors can be set by the user.

Location[ | ]

For Stars and Black Holes, the Color Mode property is located in the Colors section of the Visuals tab of the object's properties panel. For Galaxies, the Color Mode property is located in the Colors section of the Galaxy tab.

Simulation Effects[ | ]

Default Color[ | ]

For Stars, the Default color is set automatically based on the object's Surface Temperature. For Black Holes, the Default color is black. For Galaxies, the Default color of each Galaxy Nebula that makes up the galaxy will be determined by the galaxy's Type and the position of the nebula in the galaxy.

Custom Color[ | ]

The Custom color of a star affects the visible color of the star's surface, as well as the color of the light that the star shines on other nearby objects.

The Custom color of a black hole affects the color of the black hole's halo.

The Custom color of a galaxy affects the color of each nebula.
