Universe Sandbox is at its core a gravity simulator. Any object with a non-zero mass will exert a gravitational force on other objects with non-zero mass. While the equation describing the strength of this force is simple, the motion of more than two objects interacting gravitationally cannot be solved with a single mathematical expression. Instead, Universe Sandbox uses a computational method called N-body integration to simulate this motion.
